- Increasing the UC Muslim population by attracting more Muslims relocating TO the UC community.
- Increasing the visibility & integration of the Muslim community in the American Society through the “Social Services” & “Political Activism” programs.
- Important Notes:
- It is NOT a Masjid.
- It will be available for the organized usage of the whole community.
Clarification
- The purchase of the property for the “MAS Community Club” is an independent initiative by MAS-UC Chapter. This facility would be a community resource for the benefit and use of the entire community. The facility will be managed and operated by MAS-UC without any liability on the Masjid (CIMIC).
- MAS-UC will be responsible for raising the funds for covering the initial cost ($350K). The funds will be raised from three sources:
- Local Community
- Nation-Wide campaign with the help of other MAS Chapters.
- Loan from MAS-National.
*** ALL donors are clearly told and will be done so in the future that their donations are going to support the MAS -UC facility which will be serving the Urbana-Champaign Muslim & non-Muslim community and which is independent of the Masjid (CIMIC).
- The monthly operational cost will be covered through the following three sources (with different financial weight)
- Activities producing income. We already have that successfully running for years in other MAS Chapters.
- Grants awarded by governmental & NGO agencies for social & community services. We already have that running for years in other MAS Chapters.
- The monthly dues from MAS-UC members which have been regular & ongoing since we started the chapter.
*** The MAS-UC leadership is taking specific actions not to negatively impact the financial support of the masjid which is operated by CIMIC
